ARGHHH . . .

Sometimes I wonder if I would have decided to become a parent, if I had previously known how NASTY it can be sometimes. Well, only on certain days like today (and truly it still is worth it). This is the second day in a row, Lillian has gotten poop all over her room. She always seems to poop when she is supposed to be taking a nap. I try to take her before nap time- in which she NEVER performs - - then 10 minutes later when she is supposed to be going down for a nap she is crying because she needs a diaper change. I have learned to check her when she cries, every 10 minutes or so until the deed is done. WELLLL- yesterday she cried for a few minutes (as she always does when it is time for a nap because she doesn't WANT to take a nap), then fell asleep. I got this crazy feeling that I needed to check on her, even though it was quiet. To my horror she had taken off her poopy diaper and gotten it all over the room, her bed, then feel asleep naked. The worst is that her room had a lot of toys on the floor, and it was all over the toys. WOW- it took me forever to clean up the mess and disinfect and clean all the toys. So then today- she was being a real stinker about going to sleep and I kept going in and checking her diaper. Finally one time I went in and again I was met with something I would rather not face. She had taken her CLEAN diaper off, and pooped on the floor (luckily we had cleaned her room thoroughly yesterday, so there were no toys on the floor!). I AM SO TIRED OF SCRUBBING POOP OUT OF THE CARPET!! Sigh- I need to potty train her- but she hasn't really seemed to want to do it, so I haven't been pushing it. What do I do? Jon had the worst time cleaning up my makeup that she got into last Friday (lipstick handprints on everything!) - - the messes she makes are so hard to keep up with! I will be so glad when the terrible two's pass . . .

I'm so sorry Becky. These are things we get to hold over our children's heads many years down the road. Some day we will laugh, but today we can cry.

The two's are so terrible. Have you tried putting her in something she can't easily take off? Kathryn was taking her diaper off at night if we put her to bed in just a nightgown, but if she had pants on she wouldn't. Now, even if she is wearing a nightgown I always put pj bottoms on too so she won't take the diaper off. I'm sorry its rough, but the good thing is it won't last forever.

Oh Becky I'm soooo sorry!! But I'm laughing and crying with you because I'm dealing with potty training right now & Keanu has accidents ALL the time! Aaaargh! It's so frustrating! We had a VERY embarrassing poop accident at a friends house last week... Well, I can only suggest putting something on her she can't take off, like PJ pants or DuCT TAPE that honey on!!!

I was going to suggest duct tape, but Tiffanie beat me to it. Brooke used that with Audrey, I believe. I'm so sorry. As they say, "This too shall pass..." Every stage has its own special challenges, don't they?

I'm sorry to hear of your poop mess!
I am just starting to PT Dom, so I really can't help you. You are way more experienced than I am! I mean that in a good way.
I know what you mean though, Dom decides to poop during naptime too and cries because his diaper is poopy. It ticks me off. If it makes you feel any better Dom peed on the bathroom floor today cause he couldn't make it to the potty.
PT just sucks all around!
GOod luck w/the little one.

Becky,

Saw your blog off of Amy's, and thought I would stop by. I haven't had issues with a poopy room before, but a friend of mine has... She took footed pj's, cut out the feet and then turned them backwards so the zipper was on the back. Make sense? Hope this helps! God give us strength!
