Spring is in the air, and the last few months have been a whilrwind of activity with baseball season. Marcus is in coach pitch again- the same team as last year, and Cynthia is on a T-ball team. Both are having a lot of fun.
The very first games they had were on the 10th of April- the most freezing cold, windy Saturday of all spring (the same day as Marcus' b-day party). I think each one of my kids cried sometime during that morning. Of course Jon was working at the hospital so I was on my own . . . With the bad weather, I would have normally bagged the whole thing and would have taken everyone home. BUT, it was the day of their team pictures, so we stuck it out. I just love Cynthia's expression in her team picture- she wasn't a happy camper! Lillian and Cynthia pretty much cried to go home the whole time. When Cynthia's pictures were done, Marcus' game was still going on so I hiked back to the car and drove around to the field Marcus was playing at. By the time I got there, his game had ended and everyone was gone. I jumped out of the car and went looking for Marcus who had gone to where I told him I would be over by where they were taking pictures. Of course, he missed me and by the time I found him he was pretty scared and upset because he couldn't find me. It was just a bad morning all together.
Although the first day of games didn't go so well, the rest of the season has been really fun for them. Marcus is on a team with his best friend Ethan, and Cynthia is on a team with her friend Alyssa. I have fun watching them and visiting with other parents- - and it is so nice (most of the time) to enjoy being outside.
