Michigan

As some of you may know already, Jon got a second year residency position in Mount Clemens Michigan! He traveled to Michigan to interview while we were in Spokane several weeks ago- and things worked out for this one! yipee! He gets to move on with his career . . . It is amazing how once I put my trust in God and in Jon (TRULY did), within a few days he got a call from the director of the program there and had an interview set up. Jon was really candid with the director about what happened here, and luckily he wasn't scared off by that. In fact the director there reassured Jon how different their program is and how it would be a better fit for Jon. After going there and meeting with the director and the other residents- he realized it truly is a better fit for him. The atmosphere is much more laid back, there are fewer residents, the director much more approachable, no more working long 30 hour shifts on FMS (they work the hospital stuff MUCH differently), and a huge focus on Osteopathic principles and manipulation. It is a fully D.O. program- so pretty much every doctor Jon works with will be a D.O.

We are really excited for this fresh start, even though we have to move back to the mid-west. We are going to rent out the house we own here in Yakima, and are going to rent a house in Michigan (the search is on!). We are moving August 14th - - taking a week or so to get to Michigan- and moving in on August 23rd. Now all we have to do is pack up our house and find a place to live near Mount Clemens, Michigan (north of Detroit)! Here we go!

Hi Jon & Becky,

So glad to hear about Jon's new position! Amused to hear about where it is - not only is the name almost mine, but my in-laws live further north of Detroit (Deckerville), so it's not uncommon for us to pass through there when we visit them.

Best wishes,
Noelle

Congratulations! We are happy for you and proud of the way you have remained faithful through this trial. Heavenly Father truly directs our lives and puts us where He needs us to be. Sometimes we walk through fire to get there, but things having a way of becoming more clear as time goes on. Best wishes on your new adventure!
