OK- so enough of complaining. The great news is, I am starting to meet new people that I really like here in Yakima- I have to remind myself - I have only been here a few weeks! I also really love being in a house- especially one with a dishwasher, my own washer and dryer (no more quarters), the pool, 4 bedrooms and central air conditioning! Our view is great, and our little cul de sac (did I spell that right?) is perfect for our kids. Jon is happy and excited about the residency program (he works with great people) . . . so truly I can't complain! So why, after my son has told me for the 10th time that day that he hates me do I feel a bit loopy???
Saturday I looked at Jon with a bit of a crazed look and said- I need to get out of town! It was an ABSOLUTELY beautiful day so we drove to Mt. Rainier National Park and did some easy hiking in the cool, dark and fragrant forest. The kind of forest that you could picture a fairy floating by. The Mountain, as always, was spectacular as there was not a cloud in the sky. The kids (and Jon!) had a great time sliding down the melting snow (can you say wet bottom?) at the Paradise visitor center, and they also earned their Jr. Park Ranger badges. It was exactly what I needed to get the right perspective back- what an amazing life I have, and what a beautiful world we live in.
(These pictures aren't the greatest quality- but better than nothing- they were taken on Jon's new cell phone).

Have you tried applying for the scholarship through the Y?? I know here they give a discount for not making that much money, and they still look at last years tax return. The pictures of the mountains are so beautiful, I miss being able to actually "hike" instead of walking through trees on flat ground. School will start soon, and then you'll have so much free time you won't know what to do right???
Being a Mom is the best job and the hardest! Hang in there and know that you are doing a GREAT job even if life seems crazy!
I know how you feel. I am glad that you were able to get out. It is hard in a new town to feel connected to others, and you know that will change over time, but it is still hard to go through with each move.
That sounds so fun!! I wish we had a gorgeous place like that to venture off too. I am so excited for your house, Jons job, etc. It is hard to move. We've been here in Boise for a year next week and I have some friends but still nothing like Spokane or you had in Sunnyside. But you are so sweet that you'll have tons of friends soon and I am so with you as far as ready for kids to be back in school!!! They wake up fighting and then that means I wake up being mean and I hate that!!! I am so glad I know so many people that feel the same ways as me!! I miss you Becky. I dont know when we will make it to my parents next but we will look you up when we do (I hope it will be no later than Sept. or Oct. but who knows). Love ya, Lori
